Ethical Standards

Ethical Standards

At the International Journal of Education and Allied Sciences (IJEAS), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct in all aspects of the publication process. Our ethical guidelines are designed to ensure that all research published in our journal adheres to the principles of integrity, transparency, and respect for intellectual property. We follow the ethical standards set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to maintain the credibility and integrity of our publication process.

For Authors

  1. Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat manuscripts and their contents as confidential. They should not disclose any information about the manuscript to third parties without the author’s consent.
  2. Objectivity
Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts based on scientific merit and intellectual content, and not be influenced by personal or professional relationships. Reviews should be constructive and provide clear, actionable feedback to authors.
  3. Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality. If a reviewer feels they are unable to provide an unbiased review, they should recuse themselves from the process.

For Editors

  1. Fairness and Objectivity
Editors are responsible for ensuring that each manuscript is reviewed fairly and impartially. Decisions on publication should be based solely on the manuscript’s scientific merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  2. Confidentiality
Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts under consideration. Manuscripts should not be shared with individuals other than the reviewer(s) and editorial board members involved in the decision-making process.
  3. Conflict of Interest
Editors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the manuscripts they handle. If an editor has a conflict of interest, they must recuse themselves from handling the manuscript and assign it to another editor.
  4. Accountability for Published Work
Editors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the published work. If errors or ethical concerns arise after publication, editors should take appropriate corrective action, including issuing retractions or corrections when necessary.
  5. Transparency and Honesty
Editors should act with transparency and honesty in all aspects of the editorial process, ensuring that all decisions are made based on clear, objective criteria. They must work to maintain the integrity of the peer review process.

Plagiarism and Ethical Violations

IJEAS takes plagiarism and any form of academic misconduct very seriously. Any case of plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical conduct will lead to an immediate investigation, and if substantiated, the manuscript will be rejected, and the author may be banned from submitting future work to the journal. We follow the COPE guidelines for handling ethical issues in publication, and will take appropriate action in accordance with their recommendations.

Compliance with Ethical Guidelines

By submitting a manuscript to IJEAS, authors, reviewers, and editors agree to adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These guidelines help ensure that the research we publish maintains the highest standards of ethical conduct and academic integrity.
